CURRENT ROLES
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
The COO will provide senior operational leadership at the Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund, supporting the CEO in the day-to-day running of the organisation. They will oversee programme delivery, project management systems, and internal operations to ensure effective implementation of the Trust’s mandate. The role also focuses on strengthening organisational capacity, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with key government and partner stakeholders.
Executive Assistant (EA)
The Executive Assistant is a core Secretariat role providing high-level executive, administrative, and office management support to the CEO and wider team. The position also supports Board operations, programme administration, communications, and finance-related processes, helping to build efficient systems and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Trust. Strong organisational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
ABOUT THE FUND
Climate change adaptation is an urgent priority to ensure the security and viability of the islands, but the scale of funding required to adapt and to transition to green energy far outstrips the resources of the islands.
Due to its constitutional status as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom, The Virgin Islands is ineligible to access international climate funds such as the Adaptation Fund or Green Climate Fund. Additionally, The Virgin Islands does not receive any direct climate finance from the United Kingdom.
